Stepping into our Troy ice cream store brings a little nostalgia and a lot of happiness. We offer colorful balloons for our younger guests, while we welcome everyone to relax with a friendly game of chess, checkers or any one of many other board games while enjoying your favorite ice cream treat. Oberweis ice cream has earned the right to be called super premium. That's more than just a fancy way of saying super tasty, it's ice cream that meets the finest standards. First, it's made with 50% overrun, which means our ice cream is only one part air to every two parts of cream. We also use 18% butterfat and the absolute finest ingredients, more than any other ice cream in the freezer aisle. It's rich, creamy and made in small batches using cream from Oberweis milk.
We still bake our famous waffle cones every day, make our signature whipped cream from scratch and serve our divine super premium ice cream in traditional fountain glassware.

In our factory, even allergen-free products we produce are made on equipment that also processes other products with allergens. This matters due to the risks of residual allergens in people with very sensitive allergies. Our standard procedures include starting production with allergen-free products before those that might include allergens as well as conducting a full clean-out after making products containing allergens.

In our stores, if you alert a manager to allergy concerns, we are happy to use our best efforts to mitigate the risk. Upon your specific request to a manager, we will (1) wash and sanitize utensils prior to using them to produce your food, and/or (2) open a brand new bulk of ice cream and scoop from that bulk to ensure no allergens were inadvertently transferred via an ice cream scoop.
We are only able to try to limit allergen exposure in order to allow those guests with mild food allergies that have no serious or life-threatening risks to enjoy Oberweis products. Guests with particularly heightened sensitivity to allergens (dairy or nuts in particular) should exercise extreme caution and likely should not consume Oberweis products. Only you know your body and allergies.
