2 Servings

Ingredients list:
  • 4 slices of Natural Ovens White or Whole Grain Bread
  • 2 slices Montamore Cheddar*
  • 2 slices Sartori Asiago*
  • 2 slices Oberweis Cheddar*
  • 2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons of Oberweis Salted butter
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 2 sprigs of thyme

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a sauce pan with garlic, red pepper flakes, and 1 sprig of thyme.
  2. Lightly simmer, being careful not to burn the butter, while you prepare sandwiches.
  3. Spread 1/2 teaspoon of Dijon mustard onto each slice of bread.
  4. On two slices of the bread, add one slice of Montamore Cheddar*, one slice of Asiago*, and one slice of Oberweis Cheddar* cheese.
  5. Place the other slice of bread on top of the cheese. The sides with the Dijon mustard should be touching the cheese.
  6. Using a pastry brush, brush the butter onto the top and bottom of both sandwiches until all the butter is gone
  7. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt a tablespoon of butter in the skillet
  8. When melted, cook your sandwiches until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  9. Sprinkle with remaining thyme.
  10. Enjoy immediately. Pairs well with a hot bowl of soup.
  11. *Note: These cheeses can be tricky to slice thinly in large pieces-- you do not need large, single slices, you just need the equivalent in order to produce one layer of each type of cheese. Keep the slices thin to promote easy melting.
